Glazing Options for Optimal Thermal Performance Double pane sealed glass units are created using a one-piece, desiccant filled aluminum spacer bar. The bar is sandwiched between clear float glass, creating a 1/2" air space between the glass panes. Triple pane sealed units use two spacer bars. The "sandwich" is hermetically sealed with a primary and a secondary seal.
